On the night of 29 June, Russian troops launched another strike on the Cherkasy region, directing drones and missiles at residential areas of Smila. According to the National Police, three high-rise buildings, a college of the National University of Food Technologies, and vehicles were damaged as a result of the shelling.
According to preliminary data, six people were injured, including a child. Medical personnel are providing the victims with the necessary assistance.
According to the State Emergency Service, rescuers extinguished two fires, evacuated 70 people and rescued a man from an elevator shaft. A total of 81 rescuers and 30 pieces of equipment were involved in the response.
Police, bomb disposal experts and operational headquarters are working at the scene. The extent of the damage is being assessed, and emergency work is ongoing.
