The White House has decided to allow Ukraine to use American long-range missiles to strike at Russian territory, limited to the Kursk region. This decision is a response to the involvement of North Korean military in the war.
Axios reports.
The source of the publication claims that Ukraine is allowed to use ATACMS missiles only within the Kursk region of Russia, where, according to reports, North Korean troops have begun to take part in hostilities on the side of the Russian Federation. Kyiv was allegedly informed of this decision three days ago.
According to the source, the purpose of the move is to deter the DPRK from further sending its forces to support Russia. The White House hopes that if the North Korean military suffers significant losses, Pyongyang may reconsider its position on helping Russia, which in turn will weaken Russian forces and their counteroffensive plans in Kursk.
