Russia launched more than 3,170 attack drones, over 1,300 guided aerial bombs, and 74 missiles of various types against Ukraine over the past week. The attacks killed 52 people and injured another 346, including 22 children.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in a statement.

According to Zelenskyy, most of the missiles used by Russia during the week were ballistic missiles. He stressed that many strikes hit residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

“Our people need more protection, and everything that supports Ukrainian air defense ultimately helps save lives,” Zelenskyy said.

The president also emphasized the importance of additional contributions for anti-ballistic missiles and cooperation with European partners on joint ballistic missile defense.

“We must become self-sufficient in defense so that Russian aerial terror cannot threaten either Ukraine or any other country on the continent,” Zelenskyy stated.

He thanked Ukraine’s partners for supporting the country’s air defense systems and helping “through concrete actions.”
