        A plane with dozens of passengers on board crashed in Russia

        An An-24 passenger plane with 49 people on board crashed in the Amur region of the Russian Federation.

        This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

        The flight from Khabarovsk to Blagoveshchensk to Tynda was preparing to land, but was unable to land on the first attempt, went around for a second attempt, and then lost contact.

        An An-24 aircraft was found on a mountainside 15 km from Tynda in a remote area. There are no survivors, according to preliminary reports.

        There were 43 passengers (including 5 children) and 6 crew members on board the aircraft.
