On the night of 22 February, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 162 Shahed attack drones and imitators. The Air Force destroyed 82 enemy drones.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
The massive attack began at 19:00 on 21 February. The Russians launched drones from the directions of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces were engaged to repel the attack.
According to the Command, as of 08:00 on 22 February, 82 Shahed strike drones and other types of drones had been destroyed. They were shot down over Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro regions.
In addition, 75 enemy imitator drones were lost without any negative consequences.
Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad and Dnipropetrovs’k regions suffered from the hostile attack. Information on the damage and casualties is being updated.
