Ukrainian intelligence has received updated information indicating that Russia is preparing a massive strike against Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged citizens not to ignore air raid alerts and missile warnings.
This was stated in an address by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“We have updated intelligence information about the Russians preparing a massive strike. Please, I strongly urge you, take care of yourselves. Please respond to missile threat alerts,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to him, Ukrainian services and the Air Force are ready to respond to a possible attack to the extent allowed by the available means of defence.
The president stressed that much depends on partners that possess the air defence systems Ukraine needs and are able to provide them. He specifically emphasized the importance of political will in the United States, European countries and among other partners.
During his address, Zelenskyy also reported on the results of efforts to clarify information about the attack on two civilian vessels in Bulgarian waters. According to him, the Ukrainian Navy contacted the Bulgarian side, after which it was established that the incident involved a Russian combined attack using naval and aerial drones.
One vessel sank, while the other sustained significant damage. Zelenskyy stressed that the Ukrainian Defence Forces had not conducted any operations in that area of the Black Sea.
The president said that a vessel had also been struck in Romanian waters the previous day, while Russian drones regularly enter Moldovan airspace and attacks on Ukrainian ports continue.
“This is exactly what the Russians are planning — to constantly escalate,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He instructed the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defence, intelligence agencies and other services to cooperate as closely as possible with partners to strengthen defence capabilities.
Separately, the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief discussed expanding electronic warfare capabilities to protect critical infrastructure and preparing Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities for next year. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine must be able to respond in kind to every Russian operation against the country and its people.
