Ukraine has completed internal screening of legislation for compliance with European Union standards. The country is fully prepared to open the first cluster of negotiations on EU membership.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“We did it faster than anyone before us. We did it well. We are fully ready to open cluster 1 in the negotiations on EU membership — the ‘Fundamentals’ cluster. We need real progress on this issue,” the head of state said.
The president stressed that this is not only about Ukraine. According to him, Moldova has clearly confirmed its European choice, and the countries of the Western Balkans also deserve to be part of the common European home.
“Europe must keep its promises, just as candidate countries fulfill their obligations. Thank you, and we are counting on results,” Zelenskyy concluded.
