Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had spoken with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada regarding discussions about possible elections during martial law. He stressed that Ukraine must provide foreign partners with answers to all questions and concerns.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a video address on December 10.
“I will not allow any speculation against Ukraine. If our partners, including our key partner in Washington, are talking so much and so specifically about elections in Ukraine, about elections under martial law, then we must provide legitimate Ukrainian answers to every question and every doubt,” the president stressed.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian MPs will present their vision for resolving political and legal challenges.
The president noted that security issues depend primarily on partners, especially the US, while political and legal decisions must be made by Ukraine.
