The inner circle of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin understands that he is the reason the war began and continues, and is signaling this to Ukraine and its partners. At the same time, the situation on the front and Ukrainian strikes are creating an increasingly toxic atmosphere around Putin.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his evening address on July 22.
The president noted that the new atmosphere around Putin is being shaped by the situation on the front, Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions” and medium-range strikes.
“He alone is the reason the war began and is not ending. Putin alone is the reason for the losses that Russians are suffering,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, Putin’s inner circle understands this and is sending corresponding signals to Ukraine and its partners. Russian society is also increasingly beginning to feel the consequences of the war. Zelenskyy stressed that decisions are needed to establish peace.
“Ukraine has long been ready for this, and we are now doing everything to ensure that the end of this war is dignified,” the president concluded.
