Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has named five candidates for the position of head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine.
According to Suspilne, Volodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists about this during a visit to London after a meeting with EU leaders.
Candidates for the position of head of the Presidential Office:
- Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov;
- Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal;
- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Serhiy Kyslytsya;
- Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa;
- Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov.
“I held consultations, and the country saw it. There are options — Minister Shmyhal or Fedorov. But there is a challenge here, because the Rada must first remove them before appointing them. I don’t want it to be like in the game “Jenga,” when you pull out one piece and everything falls apart,” the president said regarding the candidates for the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Minister of Defense.
According to Zelenskyy, the situation with the Ministry of Defense is complicated — that is where the entire budget and responsibility are concentrated. As for Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya, he assists the president with international issues, but Zelenskyy does not know whether Kyslytsya “wants to deal with domestic issues.”
“Palis is a very good military man, but his priority right now is the war. Budanov is in charge of intelligence, which is an important area. In any case, I will be able to manage without a head of office for some time,” Zelenskyy said.
Recall that on November 28, NABU and SAP reported searches at the office of the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak. In the evening, Zelenskyy said that Yermak had written a letter of resignation.
