In his evening address on March 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and the United States deserve a constructive dialogue and stressed that partnership with the United States is key to ending the war.
The address was published on Volodymyr Zelenskyy ‘s official social media pages.
“I have instructed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the heads of our intelligence agencies, diplomats to contact their counterparts in the United States and get official information. People should not guess,” the president said.
Zelenskyy noted that the events in the White House that took place instead of the planned talks were regrettable, but “we must find the strength to move on, to respect each other.”
The president also reported on talks with the leaders of Finland, the United Kingdom, Greece, Croatia, NATO Secretary General and German CDU leader Friedrich Merz, who reaffirmed their support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the important decisions of the European Commission to allocate significant funds for European security, in particular to strengthen air defense.
He also emphasized that Russia’s position remains unchanged – the Kremlin will demand a reduction of the Ukrainian army and a legal abandonment of the temporarily occupied territories.
