Zelenskyy had a conversation with the President of Finland

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with President of Finland Alexander Stubb, during which they discussed critical issues of national security and support for Ukraine.

He wrote about it on social media.

The main topic of the conversation was the consequences of Russia’s massive missile attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Zelenskyy emphasized the urgent need to strengthen the country’s air defense.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to the Finnish people for their consistent support of Ukraine’s independence. Finland’s readiness to help strengthen air defense systems is especially important for Ukraine.

During the conversation, the presidents touched upon the issue of Ukraine’s sovereign right to choose its own future. Zelenskyy emphasized Finland’s principled position on supporting Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

As a result of the talks, the two leaders reached a common understanding of the need to provide Ukraine with effective security guarantees. The purpose of such guarantees is to ensure stability and create preconditions for a lasting peace.

The telephone conversation demonstrated Finland’s solidarity with Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression and demonstrated the consistent support of the Scandinavian state.
