President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to Russia’s night attack on Kyiv, during which the enemy launched more than one hundred strike drones. He reported this on his official Telegram channel.
According to the president, residential buildings in several districts of the capital were damaged as a result of the attack. As of this morning, three people have been killed and dozens injured, including children. Emergency services continue to work at the scene in Kyiv.
“Each Russian strike is an attempt to inflict as much harm as possible on ordinary life. This week, they targeted residential buildings, our people, children, and civilian infrastructure. These are the main targets for the Russians,” Zelenskyy said.
He noted that within just one week, Russia carried out over 1,200 drone attacks, used more than 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and launched over 50 missiles of various types.
Despite the massive attacks, Ukraine continues to defend itself — on the battlefield, in the sky, and through diplomacy. Zelenskyy highlighted the adoption of the 19th sanctions package by the European Union and new U.S. sanctions targeting Russian oil.
“We are grateful to our partners for these steps, but it is important not to stop. We expect sanction synchronization across the G7 jurisdictions and other partners. And, of course, additional tariff and sanction restrictions are needed against Russia and everyone who helps it stay afloat. This pressure will certainly work toward peace,” the president emphasized.
