Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with First Lady Olena Zelenska, has arrived in Canada for a visit that will last until September 11. The main topics will be support for Ukraine, air defence, preparations for winter, as well as deeper defence, economic and energy cooperation.

A meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is planned. According to Zelenskyy, the main focus will be on supporting Ukraine in protecting its skies and preparing for winter.
“We will talk about how to strengthen our resilience, support people and provide Ukraine with the capabilities it needs for defence,” the president said.
Important meetings and agreements are also planned, which are expected to shape further cooperation between Ukraine and Canada.
The Office of the Prime Minister of Canada said that Zelenskyy and the First Lady will attend events in Calgary, Toronto and North Bay. The President of Ukraine will also address Cabinet members at the Cabinet Planning Forum in Banff.
The visit programme includes discussions on defence, economic and energy cooperation, the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as ties between the citizens of the two countries.
First Lady Olena Zelenska is scheduled to meet philanthropists who support Ukraine and visit Canadian counterparts of Ukraine’s “Schools of Superheroes.”
