Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has shared a new report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation at the front as of 12:00 noon on Easter Sunday. Despite Ukraine’s earlier announcement of a mirrored ceasefire response to Russia’s unilateral declaration, Russian shelling has increased since 10 a.m., particularly with a twofold rise in the use of FPV kamikaze drones.
The most intense Russian activity this morning has been observed in the Pokrovsk and Siversk sectors, with heavy weapons being used not only there but also in other parts of the front line.
According to the General Staff, Russian forces launched 26 assault operations between midnight and noon.
Zelensky emphasized that every violation of Russia’s own declared ceasefire is being documented and Ukraine stands ready to share this information with its international partners. “Either Putin does not fully control his army, or this proves that Russia has no real intention of ending the war — only a desire for favorable media PR,” he said.
“It’s a small relief that there have been no air raid sirens,” he added.
Zelensky also thanked the media, podcasters, bloggers, and everyone spreading the truth about what is happening. He urged the international community to stop broadcasting services from Moscow and instead pressure Russia into agreeing to a full and lasting ceasefire — one that lasts at least 30 days beyond Easter to give diplomacy a real chance.
