Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine expects a complete and unconditional ceasefire from Russia starting on 15 May. He said this in his address, emphasising that such a proposal is already on the table and is supported by Ukraine’s partners and the international community.

According to the head of state, a long-term ceasefire could lay the groundwork for real diplomatic efforts and bring peace closer. Zelenskyy also noted that Ukrainian forces are ready to respond in kind to any actions taken by Russia.

The President stressed that if Vladimir Putin refuses to cease fire, Ukraine’s partners are ready to tighten sanctions against Russia. He also announced that he would arrive in Turkey on 15 May for talks and was looking forward to a personal meeting with Putin.
