President Volodymyr Zelenskiy held a meeting with Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov. The president reported this on social media.

Zelenskiy outlined three main priorities. The first is preparing new defense agreements that will strengthen Ukraine’s combat aviation. According to him, this is part of a broader strategy to build an air force capable of guaranteeing the country’s long-term security. He emphasized the importance of proper coordination among all state institutions and components of the Defense Forces involved in preparing and implementing the future agreement.

The second priority is a series of meetings with leaders of the European community and Ukraine’s coalition of partners. Zelenskiy stressed that each partner must clearly understand how to provide the most effective support right now — including strengthening air defense systems, expanding defense aid packages, extending the PURL program, providing equipment to restore the energy system after Russian attacks, and coordinating efforts to tighten sanctions.

The third point concerns the agenda of upcoming Staff meetings and the development of Ukraine’s defense industry. Zelenskiy said that the NSDC apparatus will undergo transformation to improve efficiency. He also stated that by the end of the year, at least 50% of the front’s needs should be covered by Ukrainian-produced weapons.

“This must be done. Glory to Ukraine!” Zelenskiy concluded.
