Ukraine’s FP-7 ballistic missile could move to the combat deployment stage within the next few weeks. Meanwhile, the longer-range FP-9 is still undergoing flight tests.
This was stated by Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh during the MSPO 2026 defense exhibition in Poland, according to NV.
According to her, the FP-7 has already successfully completed two of the three testing stages.
“We expect it to become operational very soon. So we are talking about weeks, not months,” Terekh said.
As for the FP-9, the missile is still undergoing flight testing. Fire Point noted that because of its long range, full-scale testing in Ukraine is complicated by the lack of sufficient space.
Terekh suggested that in such circumstances, the second stage of testing could effectively transition into the third — military testing.
According to her, the first stage involves ground and laboratory testing of individual systems and subsystems, including the engine and navigation systems. The second stage consists of flight tests, after which military testing begins as part of the codification process.
It was previously reported that the FP-9 has a range of more than 800 km. Media reports have compared it to the US-made ATACMS missile.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously said that the first combat use of a Ukrainian ballistic missile could take place as early as autumn 2026.
