On July 15, Ukraine’s Statehood Day, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv. She announced new initiatives to integrate the defense industries of Ukraine and the European Union.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen noted that this was her 11th trip to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.
“This is a special moment. Ukraine has built strong military momentum. The tide is turning,” von der Leyen wrote.
The European Commission president also said that during the visit she would announce new initiatives aimed at integrating the defense industries of Ukraine and the EU.
On Ukraine’s Statehood Day, Kyiv is also hosting other European leaders. Romanian President Nicușor Dan, Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić have arrived in the capital.
Other representatives of foreign delegations are also expected to arrive.
