President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree establishing the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces, which will be celebrated annually on June 11. During the first year of the USF grouping’s existence, Russian targets of various levels were struck for nearly $40 billion.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in his evening video address on June 10.
The President noted that Ukraine became the first country in the world to create a separate branch of service — the Unmanned Systems Forces.
“From now on, every year it will be June 11. A day of our respect and our gratitude to the USF,” Zelenskyy said.
Ukrainian service members have proven that through technology, creativity, and courage they can achieve objectives that were previously unattainable or required significant resources.
“In just one year after the creation of the USF grouping, Russian targets of various levels worth nearly $40 billion have already been struck,” the President said.
Strikes against Russian military logistics became especially important. Ukraine will continue to strengthen the Unmanned Systems Forces and thanked service members and all units of the Defense and Security Forces for their work.
