        Ukrposhta added two new stamps to the “Ukrainian Embroidery — Code of the Nation” series

        Ukrposhta has released two new stamps in the “Ukrainian Embroidery — Code of the Nation” series, featuring examples of women’s shirts from Sumy region and men’s shirts from Odesa region. Each stamp has a circulation of 320,000 copies.

        This was reported by the press service of Ukrposhta.

        Sumy region is represented by a women’s shirt made of homespun fabric, the sleeves of which are decorated with stripes of diamonds and cut diamonds and garlands of small flowers. It is also embroidered with svargi, a Slavic symbol of protection. Odessa is represented by a men’s shirt made of store-bought cotton fabric with a floral “Brokary” ornament.

        Both exhibits were created in the 20th century and are kept in the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine and the Ivan Honchar Museum.

        Since 2018, issues featuring embroidered shirts have covered 13 regions of the country and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
