Ukraine’s national team added three more medals at the European Weightlifting Championships for Juniors and U23 athletes taking place in Albania. The news was reported by Champion.com.ua.
Ukrainian weightlifter Maksym Dombrovskyi claimed the gold medal in the combined total with 363 kg in the 94 kg weight category. He lifted 162 kg in the snatch and 201 kg in the clean and jerk, earning two silver medals in the individual events.
This victory made Dombrovskyi the European junior champion, confirming the strong standing of the Ukrainian weightlifting school on the international stage.
A day earlier, the Ukrainian team won six medals, while Iryna Dombrovska triumphed in the women’s 77 kg category (U23), taking gold in the snatch (108 kg) and silver in the total (230 kg).
In total, Ukraine’s team has now won 23 medals at the continental championships.
