Ukrainian troops foiled an attempt by Russian saboteurs to break into Ukrainian government-controlled territory through the underground communications of the Progress gas pipeline in Suzhansky district.
According to Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Myroslav Hai, the enemy tried to repeat the tactics used during the assault on Avdiivka – using engineering structures for covert infiltration. However, Ukrainian paratroopers, having received intelligence in advance, prepared an ambush.
When the Russian saboteurs emerged from the tunnel and gathered at the exit, they blocked the way for retreat, killing most of the group. About 80% of the enemy personnel were eliminated.
Radio intercepts confirmed the panic among the occupiers – they complain that they have been ‘left to die’.
‘When the war is over, we won’t have to invent scenarios for the cinema, we’ll just have to describe the real events and Hollywood will quietly rest on the sidelines,’ Guy comments.
