Oleksandr Merezhko, chair of Ukraine’s foreign affairs committee, told Sky News that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has “without a doubt” reviewed the updated U.S. peace proposal. His remarks contradict Donald Trump’s public claims.
Speaking to Sky News, Oleksandr Merezhko said he was surprised by comments from U.S. President Donald Trump, who suggested Zelenskyy might not have read the revised peace plan proposed by Washington.
Merezhko stressed that the president of Ukraine is very meticulous in reviewing documents, especially those as significant as the U.S. peace proposal. “I am absolutely certain that he has acquainted himself with this plan and has read it,” he said on the programme Mornings With Ridge And Frost.
The Ukrainian official added that Zelenskyy always analyses diplomatic documents carefully, making Trump’s doubts appear unfounded.
