Ukraine’s Security Service and the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, confirmed strikes on a number of Russian military targets in temporarily occupied Crimea. The targets included air defense systems, military airfield infrastructure and the main power substation in Sevastopol.
The SBU said that fighters from the Alpha Special Operations Center carried out successful strikes on Russian air defense assets near the Kerch Strait, as well as on infrastructure at the Saky and Hvardiiske military airfields.
According to preliminary data from the security service, four hangars used to store aviation equipment were hit at the Saky military airfield.
Near Kerch, two weapons units from an S-400 surface-to-air missile system were also hit, along with two Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun systems.
The SBU said this was already the fourth Pantsir-S1 system hit by Alpha in that area.
“Russian occupiers are losing control over the skies of Crimea. Every destroyed air defense system and every military airfield hit opens new opportunities for further Ukrainian strikes on the enemy’s military infrastructure,” the SBU said.
Separately, Brovdi reported on the results of strikes in Crimea.
According to him, during the night of June 24, the main Sevastopol power substation — the 330/220/110/35 kV “Sevastopol” substation, which distributes power from the Balaklava thermal power plant — was hit.
“No movie tonight, and as it turns out, there is no such thing as too much electricity,” Brovdi wrote.
He said the operation was carried out by the “Birds” of the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces, coordinated by the newly created Deep Strike Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
According to Brovdi, during the night of June 24, the Unmanned Systems Forces successfully struck 48 operational and planned military targets in the enemy’s operational depth in the southern occupied territories.
The commander also clarified that one of the targets was hit seven times.
