On the night of September 16, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Special Operations Forces struck the Saratov oil refinery in Russia.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Explosions and a fire were recorded in the area of the facility. The results of the strike are being clarified,” the report said.
The Saratov oil refinery produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, vacuum gas oil, technical sulfur, and more than 20 types of petroleum products. In 2023, the enterprise processed 4.8 million tons of raw materials.
The enterprise is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian Armed Forces and has repeatedly been the target of measures by the Ukrainian Defense Forces aimed at undermining the enemy’s military and economic potential.
