In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses using a tank with homemade armor and an infantry fighting vehicle.
This was reported by the Predator Brigade.
The Predator unit, in cooperation with neighboring forces, launched FPV drones and hit the tank’s hatch, causing the crew to abandon the vehicle, which caught fire.
An armored vehicle accompanying the breakthrough was also damaged.
The Predator Brigade of the Patrol Police Department: background information
The Predator Brigade is a combined rifle brigade of the Patrol Police Department, designed to carry out combat missions to repel armed aggression against Ukraine in the combat zone.
The unit was created on March 1, 2022, as a combined patrol police detachment. In the first months of the full-scale invasion, it took part in the battles for Mykolaiv, Bashtanka, and Snigurivka, and crossed the Ingulets River together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On June 25, 2024, the detachment was reorganized into a rifle brigade with infantry, medics, reconnaissance, mortar gunners, and combat equipment. The unit has a chevron depicting a character from the movie “Predator” (1987).
The Predator fighters fought near Lyman, Sumy, in the Serebryansky Forest, and in Chasovoy Yar. In particular, they destroyed enemy T-90 tanks, mortar positions, and the Solntsepyok flamethrower system. The unit’s personnel have been repeatedly commended for their combat actions in Donetsk Oblast.
