Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will respond “in kind” to Russian strikes and violations of the ceasefire. Since the start of the day, Russia has deployed approximately 100 attack drones and carried out dozens of ground assaults and airstrikes.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on May 7.

According to the president, since the start of the day, the Russian army has been attacking Ukraine with strike drones, missiles, and aerial bombs, and launching assaults on the front lines.

As of this morning, approximately 100 strike drones, dozens of assaults in key areas, and dozens of airstrikes had been recorded.

Zelenskyy reported damage to civilian facilities in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Kherson regions. Locomotives and Ukrzaliznytsia infrastructure in several regions were also targeted.

“Ukraine will act fairly—day by day. We proposed a ceasefire starting at midnight on May 6. Yesterday and today, Russia has violated this ceasefire. In kind and in response to Russian strikes—our long-range sanctions; in response to Russia’s willingness to move toward diplomacy, we will pursue the path of diplomacy,” Zelenskyy stated.

The president emphasized that Russia is not seriously considering the possibility of a ceasefire, while Ukraine continues to work toward achieving peace.
