In an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian authorities have failed to convince even their own audience of their alleged successes on the front line, as the real situation shows significant losses. According to him, Russia loses 30 to 35 thousand soldiers killed or seriously wounded every month and actually pays with the lives of 156 people for the occupation of one kilometre of Ukrainian territory.

The head of state stressed that Ukraine is also carrying out offensive actions, as a result of which Russian forces are losing their captured positions. He gave a positive assessment of the trilateral meeting in Switzerland and emphasised his respect for partners from the Middle East and other countries, while noting that the search for solutions to the war taking place in Europe should take place on the European stage.

According to Zelenskyy, the negotiation process is divided into military and political tracks. On the military track, the parties have moved closer to a result, in particular regarding the creation of a ceasefire monitoring mission after its establishment. The discussion covers technical details, the capabilities of the parties, and the leading role of the United States in the monitoring mechanism.

Separately, complex discussions are continuing on the participation of European representatives. The president stressed the importance of both American support and the presence of European partners in the future control system. As a result of the military track, the parties have moved closer to preparing a draft document with a detailed description of the monitoring mechanisms immediately after the ceasefire.
