US President Donald Trump stated that within the next two weeks, it will become clear whether there is a chance to resolve the war between Russia and Ukraine.
This was said by Donald Trump during an appearance on the Todd Starnes Show.
“I think in two weeks we’ll know the answer — yes or no,” Trump stated.
The US President added that if the negotiations prove fruitless, “we’ll have to find another approach.” Trump emphasized that “soon everything will become clear.”
As reported by The Guardian, US President Donald Trump currently intends to allow Russia and Ukraine to independently organize a meeting between their leaders without his direct involvement. Trump told his advisors that he plans to join the negotiations only at the trilateral stage following the initial meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.
Trump’s reluctance to push Putin and Zelenskyy toward a meeting emerged against the backdrop of his recent acknowledgment that ending the war in Ukraine is more difficult than he had expected. Last year, during his election campaign, he claimed he could achieve this within 24 hours.
