Three people were killed in a drone attack on a passenger train in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region. Authorities also report injuries.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched under the procedural supervision of the Izium District Prosecutor’s Office into a war crime that resulted in civilian deaths, under Part 2 of Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.

Investigators said that on January 27, near the village of Yazykove in the Barvinkove territorial community of Izium district, Russian forces attacked a passenger train operating on the Chopt–Kharkiv–Barvinkove route. Two strikes were recorded near the train and another directly hit a carriage, causing a fire.
More than 155 passengers were on board the train. As of now, three people are confirmed dead. A man and a woman also sought medical assistance.
Prosecutors said the attack was carried out using three strike drones, preliminarily identified as Geran-2. Prosecutors and police investigators continue to document the war crime committed by Russian forces. Information is being updated.
