At an extraordinary meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to suspend Herman Halushchenko from his duties as Minister of Justice. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. The duties of the minister will be temporarily performed by Deputy Minister of Justice for European Integration Lyudmila Sugak.

Hryhoriy Halushchenko himself said in his comment that he fully agrees with the government’s decision, calling it civilized and correct. “I am not clinging to the position of minister and will not cling to it. I believe that suspension for the duration of the investigation is a civilized and correct scenario. I will defend myself in court and prove my position,” he wrote.

As a reminder, on November 10, as part of an anti-corruption operation in the energy sector, NABU conducted a series of searches, including at the home of Herman Halushchenko, who previously held the position of Minister of Energy.
