In the area of the village of Hrabivske in Sumy region, located on the border with Russia, Russian troops are unable to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory despite attempts to attack. The Defence Forces are holding their positions and inflicting fire damage on the enemy.
This was stated on television by Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service.
According to Demchenko, Hrabivske is located on the border with Russia. Russian units that entered the village in Sumy region tried to advance further but were unsuccessful.
‘As for the Russians who entered there and are trying to advance deeper into the territory of our state, they are not succeeding because all components of the Defence Forces – both the Armed Forces and the State Border Service – are preventing the enemy from doing so,’ the spokesman stressed.
Demchenko noted that at the beginning of the enemy’s active operations, Ukrainian units had to retreat from certain positions. However, the occupying forces were unable to advance beyond the settlement.
‘The enemy is unable to advance beyond the boundaries of this settlement, it is being fired upon and the positions held by our servicemen are being maintained,’ said the State Border Service spokesman.
Demchenko also reported that Russian troops remain active in certain areas of the border in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, but are unable to achieve results and are suffering significant losses.
‘Within the Khotyn and Yunakiv communities, where the enemy is located and is also active in attempting to attack the positions of our soldiers, but their activity is now significantly lower, and the enemy is also unable to achieve any results,’ Demchenko said.
According to him, in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops are active not only in the Vovchansk direction, but also in other areas of the border.
‘In the Kharkiv region, the enemy has recently been active not only in the Vovchansk direction, but also in the direction of the village of Dvorichanske, where it is also trying to attack positions, in particular those of the State Border Service, and in the direction of the village of Sotnytskyi Kozachok,’ the spokesman said.
Demchenko clarified that Sotnytskyi Kozachok is located directly on the border, but the Defence Forces are detecting enemy groups even before they reach the border.
‘This settlement is also located directly on the border, enemy groups are detected even before they reach the border, and they are being struck there,’ he said.
The spokesman said that the enemy suffers significant losses when attempting to enter the settlement and gather forces.
‘When attempting to enter this settlement and gather forces, the enemy suffers heavy losses from the actions of our servicemen, who do not allow the enemy to expand the zone of active fighting on the territory of our country,’ Demchenko stressed.
