Since the beginning of the day on 17 December, as of 16:00, there have been 87 combat clashes on the front line. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian troops made 31 attempts to break through the defences near a number of settlements. The defence forces have already repelled 23 attacks, with fighting continuing in eight locations. The enemy also conducted active assault operations in the Kostyantynivka, Lyman, Sloviansk, Oleksandrivka, and Huliaipole directions.
Three clashes and 60 shellings, including from multiple launch rocket systems, were recorded in the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions. Enemy artillery shelled border communities in the Sumy region. Settlements in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions were subjected to air strikes. No enemy offensive actions were recorded in the Kupiansk, Kramatorsk and Prydniprovsk directions.
