Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that over the past week, Ukrainian defenders repelled about 350 attacks by Russian troops in the Pokrovsk direction. He wrote about this on social media.
According to Syrskyi, it is in this section of the front that the enemy has concentrated most of its forces in an attempt to break through the defences. At the same time, Ukrainian units are not only holding back the offensive, but also conducting effective assault operations. Thus, after losing 5 square kilometres in August, the Defence Forces regained control of 26 square kilometres of territory. Similar positive dynamics are observed in the Dobropillia direction.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that he had worked at command posts in areas of active combat operations, listened to reports from commanders, and issued the necessary orders to strengthen the defence. In particular, this involves providing the military with additional ammunition and drones, strengthening electronic warfare systems and fortifications.
Syrskyi also presented awards to soldiers of the 82nd Separate Airborne Assault Brigade and the 56th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade of Mariupol, thanking them for their resilience, professionalism and bravery.
‘Every occupier destroyed brings us closer to a just peace for Ukraine,’ he emphasised.
