Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky held a working meeting on countering the strike drones that Russia uses to attack Ukrainian cities on a daily basis. He announced this on social media on 14 June.
According to Syrsky, the main task is to scale up the means that are already proving highly effective. First and foremost, this means increasing the number of interceptor drones.
‘We must take a comprehensive approach and use the capabilities of all available components,’ the commander-in-chief said.
He also stressed that Russia is constantly changing the characteristics of Shahed-type drones and the tactics of their use. In this regard, the meeting participants discussed ways to improve the detection of enemy drones and their timely destruction.
Syrsky emphasised that people’s lives, the stability of critical infrastructure and the functioning of the economy depend on effective countermeasures.
He thanked the specialists who develop, implement, and scale solutions in the field of UAV interception, as well as train operators.
