The SBU and the National Police detained an enemy agent who was preparing a terrorist attack in Zhytomyr.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
“The enemy’s accomplice was a 16-year-old schoolboy from Zhytomyr region, who was involved in criminal activity by the Russian special service in exchange for money,” the SBU said.
According to the investigation, the minor was supposed to leave an improvised explosive device (IED) near the “Alley of Glory to Heroes”, after which Russian curators planned to detonate it remotely.
The terrorist attack, aimed at a large number of victims, was also intended to kill the perpetrator himself so that he would not witness the crime.

The young man made the explosives according to the instructions of the Russian special services, disguising them in a saucepan. He carried out the entire process under constant control of the occupiers, but thanks to a timely law enforcement operation, the tragedy was avoided.
Currently, the detainee has been served a notice of suspicion for attempting to commit a terrorist act and faces up to 12 years in prison.
