The recommended conditions of participation for Russian athletes and teams, including protective measures, are no longer applicable.

This was reported by the IOC.

The reason for this was that the Russian Olympic Committee no longer includes among its members any regional sports organizations in territories that fall under the jurisdiction of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. The ROC also confirmed that it does not and will not conduct activities in these territories.

Now all Russian athletes returning to participation in international competitions must meet anti-doping requirements. The IOC will make a decision on the use of the Russian flag, anthem, colors or any identifying symbols at the Olympic Games “at the appropriate time”.

At the same time, the IOC will not organize its events in Russia and will not invite Russian government or state officials to them. The committee also stated that its position regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine has not changed.

The IOC emphasized that its position regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine has not changed. The committee said it continues to condemn the invasion and support the Olympic community of Ukraine.
