Russian army attacked Kyiv with Kinzhal and Iskanders – KMVA

On the morning of December 20, Russian troops launched a combined missile attack on Kyiv, allegedly using Kinzhal air defense missiles from MiG-31K and Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles, said Serhiy Popko, head of the KMVA.

“At about 07:00 am, the Russian armed forces launched a combined missile attack on Kyiv. As a result of the attack, debris fell in three districts of the city.”

Aftermath:

  • Holosiivskyi district:
    • An office building, road surface and a gas pipe were damaged, causing depressurization.
    • Five cars burned down.
    • According to preliminary reports, one person died and another was injured.
    • At another location, the facade of an office building was damaged, with a fire on the roof and destruction on the 15th floor. There is a possibility of trapped people. Two victims were hospitalized.
  • Solomyansky district:
    • A fire broke out in a non-residential building as a result of falling debris, which was quickly extinguished. There were no casualties.
  • Shevchenkivskyi district:
    • The fire occurred in a non-residential building. Information about the victims is being clarified.
