In Lutsk, firefighting efforts are ongoing after a nighttime Russian drone attack that destroyed food warehouses and a Nova Poshta terminal. A residential building was also damaged.
This was stated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, the strike targeted purely civilian objects. Emergency services and municipal crews are working to eliminate the consequences. Overnight, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Odesa, Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi regions were also hit.
Zelenskyy said Russia launched 339 drones against Ukraine, around 200 of them “Shaheds,” and some remain in the air.
The president stressed that the attack was Russia’s response to Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts. Kyiv had proposed a ceasefire for Easter, as well as specifically regarding energy infrastructure, but Russia ignored it.
According to Zelenskyy, Russia continues to prolong the war and invest in its escalation, including through cooperation with Iran. He said Russia remains a global threat and an obstacle to diplomacy.
Zelenskyy also thanked partners for their support and called for stronger sanctions, noting that increasing interception rates of drones and restricting Russia’s economic capabilities would help bring peace.
