Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Russia plans to recruit another 409,000 troops in 2026. According to him, this means the enemy is not abandoning its intentions and is preparing for further aggression against Ukraine.
He also noted that with improving weather conditions, enemy activity on the front line is increasing.
Syrskyi said he held an оперативне meeting on the state of engineering fortifications. Key tasks include strengthening fortifications, developing anti-drone protection, and preparing settlements for defense.
According to him, reports were heard from military commanders, leadership of the State Special Transport Service, and heads of regional military administrations. Problematic issues were identified, along with specific solutions and timelines for their implementation.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the quality and speed of this work affect not only the resilience of defense but also the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
He thanked the military, engineers, and local authorities working to strengthen Ukraine’s defense.
