Overnight on July 5 (beginning at 8 p.m. on July 4), Russian forces launched an unprecedented attack using 322 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones and various decoy drones, according to Ukraine’s Air Force Command.
Military officials said the main direction of the assault was Khmelnytskyi region, specifically the city of Starokostiantyniv.
As of 9:30 a.m. local time, Ukrainian air defenses had neutralized 292 enemy drones. Of those, 157 were shot down with air-defense weapons, while 135 were lost to location interference or jammed by electronic warfare.
Ukrainian authorities reported confirmed impacts from enemy aerial weapons at four locations, with debris from downed drones falling in six additional areas.
