        Russia begins three-day nuclear force training

        On May 19, nuclear force training and deployment exercises began in Russia. The maneuvers involved the strategic missile forces, the navy, and long-range aviation.

        This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

        The exercises will last from May 19 to 21. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the maneuvers involve the strategic missile forces, the Northern and Pacific fleets, the long-range aviation command, as well as part of the forces of the Leningrad and Central military districts.

        The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the exercises are being conducted “under conditions of threat of aggression.”

        The goals of the maneuvers in the department included improving troop command skills, testing the readiness of military command bodies, and practicing interaction when performing tasks.

        As previously reported, Belarus has also begun training on the combat use of nuclear weapons and nuclear support with the participation of missile forces and aviation. The Belarusian Ministry of Defense stated that the purpose of the exercises is to increase the readiness of the army to use modern means of destruction, in particular special ammunition, and that they plan to work out certain stages in cooperation with the Russian side.
