On the night of October 5, Russia carried out a massive combined attack on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure. The head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretskyi, reported the strikes in a Facebook post.
According to Koretskyi, civilian facilities that supply gas to households during the heating season were targeted. There were direct hits and destruction, and company specialists, together with emergency services, are working at the sites to eliminate the consequences and assess the extent of the damage.
“The facilities that were attacked have no military value. These maniacal terrorist strikes aim only at one thing — to deprive Ukrainians of gas, heat, and light,” Koretskyi emphasized.
He added that Russian forces are deliberately attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, attempting to disrupt the heating season and cause suffering among civilians.
“Russia is a terrorist state,” the Naftogaz CEO concluded.
