Ukraine has established the State Agency “PlayCity” to replace the liquidated Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries. The agency will be coordinated by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and will have 61 employees.
This was announced by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.
The Cabinet of Ministers has established the State Agency of Ukraine “PlayCity”, whose employees will be responsible for the implementation of the state policy in the field of gambling and lotteries, instead of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, which was liquidated by the Verkhovna Rada in December last year.
“The State Agency of Ukraine “PlayCity” has been established as a central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of organizing and conducting gambling and lotteries,” Melnychuk said.
The new agency will be coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers through the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
According to MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, the new body will be within the budget of the liquidated CRAIL in 2025. The number of employees of the agency will be 61, which is the same as the number of employees who were laid off from CRAIL. It will be located in the same place as KRAIL.
