The sociological group ‘Rating’ conducted a nationwide poll on Ukrainians’ attitudes towards the talks that took place in Turkey.

According to the poll, 74% of respondents support the initiative for a 30-day ceasefire without any conditions. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Turkey was considered successful by 53% of those polled.

The level of trust in the president has stabilised at 70%, which is significantly higher than at the beginning of the year, when it fluctuated between 53% and 58%.

Although only 25% of respondents believe that the talks in Turkey will bring the war closer to an end, the majority agree that Ukraine should remain open to diplomatic initiatives. President Zelenskyy’s participation in such talks, even in Putin’s absence, is supported by 47% of respondents.

Among the reasons for Putin’s absence from the negotiations, Ukrainians cite unwillingness to end the war (54%) and fear (22%).

The survey was conducted by telephone (CATI) and involved 1,000 respondents from all regions of Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territories and areas without Ukrainian mobile communication. The sample is representative in terms of age, gender and type of settlement. The statistical error does not exceed 3.1% with a probability of 0.95.
