Russian occupation forces have significantly increased the intensity of their offensive operations in the Novopavlivka direction, trying to break through to the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Over the past day, an unusually high number of combat clashes — 34 — have been recorded here.

This was reported on the national telethon ‘Yedyni Novyny’ by Viktor Tregubov, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops.

According to the military official, such an unprecedented number of battles in one section of the front line indicates extremely active attempts by Russian units to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory and reach the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Tregubov stressed that despite significant efforts, the occupiers have not yet succeeded in this direction. He also noted that the tense situation continues in other areas of the front, in particular, in the Toretsk, Kharkiv, Pokrovsk and Kupiansk directions, where active hostilities are also ongoing.

The spokesman for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops expressed the opinion that with such intense attacks, the Russian command is seeking to demonstrate at least ‘some presence’ and try to push the line of demarcation closer to the administrative borders of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

In his opinion, this is being done to simulate the partial fulfilment of the occupiers’ ‘political goal’ in the war against Ukraine.
