On the night of February 6, the Zaporizhzhia region was subjected to a massive attack by enemy strike drones. As a result of the strikes, there are dead and wounded, private homes have been damaged, and thousands of consumers have been temporarily left without power.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported on the course of the night attack. According to him, for several hours, enemy strike and unidentified UAVs were detected in the direction of various districts of Zaporizhzhia, in particular Shevchenkivskyi, Zavodskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Kosmichnyi, as well as in the direction of Zaporizhzhia Airport and adjacent settlements. During the attack, air defenses were activated, and residents were urged to remain in shelters until the all-clear was given.
As a result of the strikes, private sector houses were damaged, and about 12,000 subscribers in the regional center were left without electricity. According to Ivan Fedorov, repair crews began work immediately after the security situation improved, and as of this morning, all consumers who had been without power now have electricity.
Casualties among the civilian population have also been confirmed. In Zaporizhzhia, a 14-year-old boy was injured in the attack and received all necessary medical assistance. In the Zaporizhzhia district, in Volnyansk, an enemy drone destroyed a private house, killing a married couple: a 49-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman.
