On the night of May 7, Russians attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones. Air defense forces were deployed in the city, and some of the enemy targets were destroyed.
This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Two people were killed in a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital. Debris from a UAV hit the upper floors of a five-story residential building.
“A total of seven people were injured. Among them are four children. Three of the victims were hospitalized. Four were given first aid at the scene,” Klitschko wrote.
According to the State Emergency Service, rescuers worked in the Svyatoshyn, Solomyansky, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts.
Svyatoshyn district: debris hit a nine-story residential building. Apartments on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th floors caught fire. The fire was extinguished over an area of 100 square meters. Five people were rescued: one adult and four children, three of whom were minors with burns and were hospitalized. Rescue operations are ongoing.
Solomyanskyi district: debris from a UAV fell on open ground.
Dniprovskyi district: a drone crashed into a multi-story residential building. Partial destruction of the floors on the 29th and 30th floors. No fires or casualties.
Shevchenkivskyi district: debris from a UAV fell on a five-story residential building, causing a fire in apartments on the 3rd and 5th floors. The bodies of two people were found during the firefighting operation. The fire has been extinguished.
The attack continued until morning, with air defense forces resuming operations after 6:30 a.m. Residents were urged to remain in shelters.
