The body of a woman suspected of attempting to murder sanctioned businessman Vadym Yermolaiev was found near Kyiv on July 6. This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to the outlet’s sources, the woman’s body was found at around 11:00 p.m. The sources said she had been shot dead.

Another law enforcement source told the outlet that two suspects had already been detained in the case. One of them is a current officer of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, while the other is a former law enforcement officer.

On June 29, at around 9:00 p.m., three people were injured in an explosion in Monaco, two of them very seriously. According to media reports, the victims included sanctioned Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev and people close to him.

After the explosion in Monaco, a large-scale search began for the suspect who had planted the explosive device. The man was captured on surveillance cameras. It is currently believed that he managed to leave for France.

In recent statements from Monaco, officials said they had ruled out terrorism as a motive. Instead, the Principality’s Prosecutor General’s Office opened an investigation into attempted murder and the placement of an explosive device in a public place.

Media reports also said that Monaco investigators in the Yermolaiev attempted murder case are considering a possible link to Ukraine’s Security Service.
